There's this quote: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the
intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but
rather to
skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, favorite beverage in the
other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming,Woo
Hoo...what
a ride!"
Maybe modified for Frank as follows:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving
safely in a perfect concours Sprite but rather to
skid in sideways, cigarette
hanging from your lips and a cold beer in your hand, the body of the Sprite
you lovingly restored in two weeks thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with
a trail of good friends in your wake and screaming,Woo Hoo...what
a ride!"

"The Measure of a Man"
http://www.scrapbook.com/poems/doc/26887/374.html
Not -
How did he die? But - How did he live?
Not - What did he gain? But - What did
he give?
These are the things that measure the worth
Of a man as a man,
regardless of birth.
Not - What was his station? But - had he a heart?
And -
How did he play his God-given part?
Was he ever ready with a word of good
cheer?
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not - What was his church?
Not - What was his creed?
But - Had he befriended those really in need?
Not -
What did the sketch in the newspaper say?
But - How many were sorry when he
passed away?
These are the things that measure the worth
Of a man as a man,
regardless of birth.
