After reading Guy's post on the science of extended oil changes I checked the
owner's manual of our newest car, a 6.1L Chrysler 300C SRT8 with 425hp.
Factory recommended oil change interval? 3000 miles with Mobil One
synthetic!

PS If you use synthetic oil, you don't need to change oil 3-4K.

After reading that thread and seeing that image (see below) I'm thinking BMW
doesn't want to cover 4 changes of oil every year as their FREE service. If
I do go with the Mini I'll change it every 3K-4K regardless.
