1950 Pontiacs had 4-speed Hydramatics like a Hudson. Reverse became Park when the pump stopped. They were sometimes a little hart to get out of reverse, but not to get in. The Plymouth had pushbuttons that worked a cable. It was the same tranny as the ones that had the little lever in the middle of the dash, but with buttons. If the cables rusted, the buttons got stuck. WD40 fixes them. BZ |
