I agree that a return to Demming's methods would probably lead to an
improvement in the quality of American built products, but I doubt that
corporate greed would allow it.
What I believe is necessary is to impose a ridiculously high import tax on any
American firm that produces its goods in another country. Import taxes to
nations that are selling us their own goods could be more moderate, and
generous tax breaks offered to corporations that perform all of their
manufacturing within the US, using at least 90% American made equipment and
parts.
My plan would increase job availability and pride in being able to claim
American made. Once again, corporate greed would prevail, as upper management
has grown accustomed to receiving salaries 3 - 500 times that of the people
doing the actual work. Until something can be done about this, our country is
doomed to become a third world nation, and it will probably happen within our
lifetime.

Anyone, please correct or add. . . (all from memory of reading about
Demming). .
