I finally have some pics of the 1962 DNIF Briggs Cunningham Team Fiat Abarth
Zagato for anyone interested. Just email me your email address off list and I
will send it out to you in the form of a Picasa web album. I went over my
friend's house today to discuss painting my BN2 and he said the carbs arrived
for the Fiat. He had also acquired the exact copy dual linkage for the carbs.
They are just stuck on the manifold for now to see how it looks. There are a
few other pics of some of the projects in his shop. One is a Kurt Tanner
restoration that a customer is very unhappy with. Seems like Kurt just
slapped
it together. The engine would not run (caked rust found in the rocker shaft
area). Compression was 210, 170, 150, 210. Hmmm. Panel fit was very lousy
and
the paint finish was very amateurish with orange peel finish and dust stuck in
the paint. The differential was leaking badly and let's not even get started
on
the interior. I don't know how this guy gained a reputation. There is also a
shot of his present project and a friend's 57 that will be leaving soon for his
friend (Bob) to finish by himself. Tom had helped with the drive train and
suspension. You would have seen several other big Healeys if I had turned the
camera in the opposite direction, but I was short on time.
