Actually there are many different rounds that are quiet through my
suppressor when used on a pistol, including sub sonic.
Some ammo exceeds the speed of sound through a rifle barrel and that
will give you a report.
Cheap, bulk 22 ammo from Wal*Mart is quieter than most pellet guns in
my pistol/suppressor..
You can hear the hammer fall and the impact with just about any ammo
that isn't "Hyper" velocity.
