Everyone seems to fuss with their engines, trying to get them working right.
But I am amazed at how tough my 1275 engine is. I have no idea about its
history or internal condition. I bought it for $200 and installed it because
the one in the car was leaking oil profusely. I did clean up the everything
and add an electronic ignition.
Today, I pulled a plug wire to get it out of the way while tightening my fan
belt and forgot to put it back on. The car started and ran flawlessly, and I
didn't figure out it was missing until I backed out of the driveway. I am
stunned that this thing can idle so smoothly on three cylinders that I didn't
even notice.
Or am I getting too old to notice?
