Get yourself a piece of PVC pipe. Slip a loop of rope through it so you
have a have one end to loop, the other to pull. Get the loop around the
cat's neck, and pull the other end. The cat isn't going to be happy
about this, and you have to be careful not to injure them, but this is
what animal control officers use to keep from getting bitten.
I keep one around here for the occasional 'possum.
Another alternative is to use a heavy work glove and grab them by the
scruff of the neck. They reflexively relax, at least somewhat, and they
can't get to you anyway.
Give the cat to someone else, a long ways away.
