I thought about that, but I would expect a little fuel leakage when the tank
is full. The rubber fuel line from the pick-up metal line to the fuel pump
is only about 5 inches long. I checked the clamps for tightness. I suppose
even that short line could have a pin hole. I might put a new piece in just
in case.

I had this problem with a1960 Triumph Herald back when I was in high
school (a long time ago ;)....
Turned out to be a pin-hole in the fuel line between the tank and the
fuel pump.
