First real road trip - age 7, coming back from a year in Palos Verdes CA to 
Long Island NY in my parents' 1973 Pontiac Grand Safari 9 passenger wagon with 
a 455 V8, clamshell rear tailgate. To quote a song about another GM brand - 
Tearin' up the highway like a big old dinosaur....
