Any of you lot familiar with the black art of customs? Especially
UPS's version of brokerage fees?
A customer shipped some shocks from Canadia via UPS for us to
rebuild, and 2 weeks later I get invoiced by UPS for customs and
brokerage fees (duty $9.23 + Govt charges other than duty $2.00 +
Brokerage charges $29.75). A little late for me to charge the
customer! The label specifically shows "car parts return for rebuild to USA".
I generally like UPS, but this seems a bit usurious.
While I wait for them to reply, I thought I'd ask if any of you know
how to avoid these situations. Note: I recommend US Mail for Canadian
shipments.
Thanks
Peter C.
