That was the book that started it all for me in the 60's. Number two would
be "The Jeep" much the same.

Am on vacation, and picked up a copy of the classic book "The Red Car", read
in a day on the beach. Everyone on this list should read this classic of a
16 year old kid in 1954 fixing a wrecked 1948 MG TC to go racing. I was born
way too late to have even known this book existed until recently, but it's
dead-center on about how most of us felt the first time we saw these cars.
