My BE spring box base plate is welded to the floor pan (actually, to a patch)
which will be a pain to get out. Frank says he has never seen one that was not
welded to the floor pan.
They do not look like they should be welded except maybe to prevent water
intrusion into the spring box. I have seen two pictures online in which they
were not obviously welded and a statement that they are often welded by
amateurs, making them difficult to remove.
Does anyone have one that is not welded? That would seem to indicate that they
were not welded at the factory.
