While we are talking about bikes, maybe someone can give me some ideas.
 I,
too, have been riding since I was 15. I'm now 72. For about10 years I have
been bothered with dizziness. It does not happen every time I ride, but I
can never tell when it will happen. When it does, I can hardly stand to
ride over 40 mph. I get to feeling like I'm just going to fall over. If I
stop the bike the dizziness goes away. It does not matter what bike I'm on,
so it's not the bike. I have been to my GP, to an ear specialist, and a
neurologist. No one can give me any reason. I am diabetic and also have
high blood pressure. The first time I had this was right after my doctor
had changed my blood pressure medicine and I was on my way to Vintage Bike
Days in Westerville, Ohio. I know that this is a little off the subject,
but if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Kirk,
Sorry to hear you cannot ride anymore. It must have been quite a let
down. My biggest problem is being recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
I can't drink beer at the biker rallies anymore!

Mike, who says you can't have a beer anymore? I've been a diabetic for
years and both my Dr. and my dietician say it's OK in moderation. Heck,
they say the same thing to non-diabetics.

Drink up -- but not too much. BTW, alcohol lowers your blood sugar, but the
carbs in beer raise it. Try a mixed drink? Or, God forbid, a lite beer.
Also, that old wive's tale about rye whiskey is just that -- it's no better
than any other liquor for diabetics. See... I checked all this stuff out!
