Improperly constructed (not symmetical) (aftermarket?) top to begin with is my
guess and thus, your way of dealing with the problem seems perfectly logical
under the circumstances.

Subject: Bugeye/Frogeye Club..... Side curtain fit question..
Hello all,
Just to help get the top ready for cleaning I had it up as well as the
side curtains rolled the car into the sun and left. Surprise, it
rained. Well no, it stormed. The good news is that the passenger's
side is dryish but the driver's side is now suitable for guppies. A
little examination reveals that the side curtain on the passenger's
side fits tightly against the flap on the top but the driver's side
side curtain just barely touches the flap on the top, just enough in
fact to act as a funnel for water coming off the top.
To date I have tried adjusting the side curtain brackets so that the
curtain sits up as high as possible but no joy. I looked at the gaps
around the door and they look good and small and straight.
So I see now option oterh than to fabricate new side curtain brackets
with a taller adjustment slot. Is there something that I'm missing?
Thanks,
Lester
