On the recommendation of my daughter who is more knowledgeable, I just
bought a Western Digital unit on sale at Target for $80. Since you will not
use it much, it is not clear that it is necessary to get a top-rated unit
with all bells and whistles. All you really need is for it to be sturdy. A
good brand name should provide that.
