You are all wrong, larger bugs are easier to step on and less likely to escape between the treads. And of course, the gross factor increases logarithmically with size. This is why in areas of the world where bugs are not deemed gross, but tasty, bugs grow larger. Simple evolution. Hard science. I'm sure it could be proven with respected sources such as wikipeadea and google.
