True, but it weighed a WHOLE lot more than the SBC327 and did not rev as
well.
Pontiac only had the one V8 block for many many years (until they threw away
all the tooling for it in the 80's when they decided they would never need a
V8 again), so the 326 was the same block as the 455, IIRC, just with a lot
more room left to bore it out.
