When was the last time you saw a 240 Z that wasn't rusted away?
the kid up the street just gave up on his 510 project, Way too rusted
out. he's getting a Midget. He already has a 350Z that's falling apart
but for 40,000 bucks, whaddaya expect. He had a Subaru WRX that never
ran, I think he junked it with payments left. Even Subaru couldn't fix it.
But he swears by the japs as he's down at my garage beating the crap out
of suspension parts that just don't hold up or trying to get the squeaks
out of his doors or rattles from the chassis. It's like an 04 that
replaced his 02 WRX that replaced the Toyota Supra he blew up.
Go figure?
His Wife's Pathfinder had power seats but the design was to pretty much
run the seat wire harness along the seat track so after a few moves of
the seat, the wires fray and smoke not only the seat but the carpet and
harness. $600 to fix so it stays broke, needs a whole new seat assemble.
But he praises the japs and their cars. But he just bought a Midget
because he hangs out in my garage and wants to know HOW a car can run
with no relays, no sensors, and no plastic ;) He is amazed at the
simplicity of the electrics. Battery to switch to device. What a
concept! Fuse the horn, to hell with the lights.
I actually owned a Datsun back in the 70s. I had it for about 3 days.
It was a Datsun 410 which was before the 510, it was never imported or
not many came to the States. It blew up before I even registered it for
the road. I paid $15 for that car but the junk man gave me $15 so I
didn't mind. Then I used that same $15 and bought a Sunbeam Rapier, that
siezed up in about a week. So my dad sold me his Sprite and look what he
did?
