Just for fun, I bought one of these:

Not bad for $23 and a little labor. The wheel feels and looks good, for
$23. I don't know if it would hold up for long on a daily driver but, for
$23..........
Now that I've done it, twice, I can report that it is possible and not
difficult to do. The same technique can be applied to a Grant, Momo, or
other steering wheel.
