Hello spridgets,
my daughter has her first car now.. when she got it i told her that
when she sells it, she'll hate herself forever... but that
eventually she would sell it, but when she turned 40 or 45, (she's
17 now) she would look back and wish she still had it.. most especially when
she
sees that its a $40k -> $50k car... i'm talking FUTURE collector car
here... a 1988 toyota MR2. she got it for $1000. its in rough
shape, but still.. .. the cars that people will want are the ones
they're growing up with.. rice rockets that handle well and get good
fuel mileage (she's getting 35 on the freeway) .. there isn't so
much electronic stuff on it that will be unavailable (black box
stuff) in another 30 years, so immanently restorable.. she's already
had offers of $3000 PLUS another car.. .. but.. she'll go off to
college and have no place to store it, or.. eventually get married
and have kids and it won't be practical.. .. i only wish I had a
place to keep it for her (for ME!!) .. oh well.. ..
