In the '50's it was common for the street lights to be on at noon in Pittsburgh because of the 'smog'. It was actually steel mill dirt, but who's counting. It's a completely different city now, clean and with fresh air. All we had to do was put 50,000 steel workers out of a job and close 80% of the mills. The interesting thing about 'European Environmentalism' is that they still don't want to include Eastern Europe in the total mix. The mess that they made there after WWII into the 80's will be around a long time. CB |
