No LBC - Miata Recommendations

My wife wants a Miata as her next car, so I thought I would check with 
the List since many of you have Miatas along with your Spridgets.

She doesn't care if its new or a good used one. Her only requirements 
are 1) must be automatic  & 2) it cannot be yellow, red or silver.

I know nothing about them, so am hoping you guys could give me some 
pointers. Years to avoid? Engine problems? etc.
