> 8 tracks were a tape system that was very popular in the 70's 8 tracks were a dodgy car stereo setup using the broadcast cartridges that radio stations put their commercials on. The playback head had to be physically moved or and down to select tracks. For some reason, 8 tracks were popular in some circles even though the vastly superior cassette system was available at the same time. Personally, I've only ever seen one 8 track player, and that was about 15 years ago. BZ |
