Calling all experts...none healey..need help

While visiting my local safety deposit box I came across my father-in-laws and
and uncles coin collection. Maybe it is time to put these in the hands of
someone who can appreciate them.  No gold pieces.  Lots of Silver dollars,
about 30...over a 100 halfs lots of quarters, dimes, nickels,  zinc pennies,
maybe 500 or more coins.  Here is the problem....I know a bit about LBCs but
not a thing about old coins.  What is the safest, best, way to get the value
of this collection??
