Billy is right, several years ago, I was getting prepared to snipe an
auction in OZ for a steering column surround for a RHD Bugeye. New
Lucas part, still in the box (still is to this day). I knew what I was
ready to pay, but as the bid climbed higher and higher as the close
neared, I did a little looking at the high bidder. He was also a
seller, that appeared to buy and resell on eBay somewhat. I tried to
imagine what someone like that would be willing to pay, and I decided
to pay about $10 above that amount. It doesn't always work, but that
night it did, and I won it by pennies. It all boils down to how badly
YOU need that item.
Oh, and nothing pisses me off more than a sore loser. I had a guy
email me after an auction with a "nice sniping dude, I hope your
karma's good" comment.
I promptly replied with a "my karma's great, I hope you can handle
being beat out by someone that isn't a cheapskate, and was willing to
pay more"
Our relationship ended around then. I sometimes miss him, and wonder
how karma is treating him. Does she still do the laundry and cook, or
are they divorced now? Who got custody of the kids?
