I think one of my calipers is a little sticky. The car pulls to the
right if I hit the brakes, especially at speeds above about 50mph.
Now, the calipers were rebuilt this spring (for the second time. pistons
are new SS units I installed 3 years ago), and new front hoses (rubber)
were installed at the same time. Brake pad wear was uneven, as the right
inner pad was worn to the rivets after 8,000 miles. On the left, the
wear wasn't as bad, but the inner pad was still worn more than the outer
pad.
M/C is new and installed last year, because the previous one was leaking
occasionally. This one had been fine up to friday, as it seems to be
seeping. I'm using DOT5.
PDWA was rebuilt, and eveything else (wheel cylinders, hard lines, rear
hose, e-brake cables) 3 years ago when I first reassembled the car.
So, my questions are:
1. what would cause the right caliper to stick after a rebuild?
2. Are the inner pads supposed to wear quicker than the outer pads?
Any insights are welcome!
