Start with the basics, gas and fire.
For gas you can pour a teaspoon or so into each carb mouth and see if it starts.
If you are sure the gas is getting to the carbs, proceed to spark.
To test for spark, remove a plug wire from the plug and stick a
screwdriver into the wire end. A Craftsman Phillips usually works
good for this. Hold the screwdriver near something metal, like the
valve cover and keep the shaft about 1/8-1/4" from the metal. Don't
touch the metal shaft of the screwdriver. Turn the engine over and
look for spark.
Or, pull the plug and lay it on something metal.
