Been here, done this w/my 62. The Mossy provided cap WILL work if you spread
the 2 tabs a bit. A little slippery stuff on the rubber gasket such as
vaseline will enable it to turn easier onto the neck. By comparing an original
(or what I believe was original since there was no chrome or polishing done to
it) the modern cap is good on the dimensions but the rubber gasket is probably
too thick.
