Has anyone ever had a front spring lose it tension?
I ask because a while back my left front starting bottoming out. First thought
was bum shock, so I swapped it with a used shock from my collection which had
mucho resistance. I can drive spiritedly for about 25 miles on good driving
roads then the left front goes soft on me. Let it sit a few hours and all is
okay. Cruise the interstate and all is well until I get on good driving roads.
I've ordered and awaiting delivery of new (rebuilt) shock from the guru (Peter
C.) but have this nagging thought it could be the spring and not the shock,
hence my question. I've got the car on blocks, left front shock off, and then
the thought of swapping in a new front spring came to mind.
Any thoughts appreciated.
