When I opened my gauges, or when I first tried, I found the rubber rings to 
be petrified. I took a Q-tip and soaked it with water then dabbed the 
sealing edges with water wherever I could get at them - front and rear. 
That step helped alot.  Several soakings over several hours is best. Over 
night is better.
