OK, so now that I've got a special rebuild task!!
There are a few pieces that commonly go south on these boxes. Invariably the
same on all!! So let me try a teardown on the one Pete Shull offered and see
if it's a suitable candidate. Don't really want a half dozen trannies
floating in courtesy of the UPS guy! Problen is, they really fluff up when
they're disassembled and I don't have that much space for them.
I'll put out a cry for trannies as the need arises. Please don't swamp me
with them just now!!
Buster, do you want this as an original ribcase, complete with oil leaks or do
you prefer non leaker, non original type??

Hi Larry,
I'll do it. If 1st gear ring is shot, good bye rebuild!! Should be
painted
Bugeye green, right? So you need a 1098 back plate and oil pump cover too.
I've got them.
Would you like that cracked or uncracked?

Well, Paul has foolishly volunteered to rebuild a ribcase and has several
different offers of victims, I guess it's up to you, Paul, to decide which one
you want to use.
Mine from the Bugeye is available right now, but I have absolutely no
knowledge of it's condition. The one from the 72 Midget will be available
after Willy and David finish the BABE rally -- in other words early June --
and has bad 2nd gear synchros.
