Since I have been projectless for almost a whole week now, and I did
finish detailing my Sprite. I thought I would go pick up PIECES which
was stored for the winter in a rented chicken coop (home of the chicken
debeaker ;) )
Anyway, she fired right up and I drove it home only to see rust bubbles
here, there, and in more places than I wanted to see.
So I took the grinder to it. All it needed was a new top as I redid the
interior last year with 2 tone seats and new carpet. But now it gets
some metal work and a fresh paint job.
I did respray it a couple years ago but it has been 10 years since I put
it together so it's time.
It'll be finished for the moss show 5/6/06. That gives me better than 2
whole weeks!
Oh, so much for my detailed Sprite, don't start grinding in the same
garage where a just detailed car is sitting.

On another note, I cut up a 59 Bugeye today, it was pretty bad but I
have restored worse. I don't want super major projects like that
anymore, it's just not worth it. But I did save the cowl for my 58
project Bugeye since that car was "T" boned at some point. And I have a
useable rear clip cut off in such a way as it is graftable to any
Spridget if someone wants a roll up window Bugeye, or if anybody gets
rearended so bad that, well, I have a rear clip cut off a couple inches
in front of the dog legs at the rockers.
