Obviously, if it is a pilot BEARING, instead of a BUSHING, the tap is not a
good idea.

Just run a tap into the bushing. When the tap bottoms out, keep turning it,
and it'll push the bushing out of the crankshaft. You're on your own, as
far as what size tap to use. It's been several years since I replaced the
clutch in my Midget, and the memory is pretty dim.
