I've read all the dialog about battery cables, wiring, batteries, etc. Keep in mind your ignition coil. As the cold causes higher resistance in cranking circuits, it also causes the same issue with a marginal coil. Combine a slow cranking engine with a high resistance coil, and you have a no start condition. I used to have a '50 Ford pickup with a flathead V-8, 6 volt positive ground. It would cold crank at about 50 rpm, but always start because everything in the ignition was new. John Engfehr 59 Bugeye |
