Thread-topic: | Piston Rings questions |
I have a question as to how to place the opening of the rings on the pistons... Rings will rotate as the engine runs (changes in engine speed tend to cause rotation, that's why you change speeds when you break-in an engine). The idea when you install new rings is to make sure they aren't all in the same alignment. This can cause high blow-by / oil consumption until the rings rotate. Put your ring gaps in different positions and you should be OK, IMO. John Engfehr <>< 59 Bug 1275 |
