Hello Billy,
after AH stopped using generator drives for for the tachs, the
next setup was the "impulse" tach. it is NOT wired to the coil,
but rather
a loop or wire from the ignition circuit (the wire running from
the ignition switch to the tach) was attatched to the back of
the tach. the tach reads rpm by induction. the wire has no
DIRECT contact to the tach, but the loop is attached by a
removable clip to the back. when the tach is removed the clip
always stays with the wire, because to remove the clip, you'de
have to CUT the wire! if you don't have one, the tach won't
function, because there's no other way to do the hook up. .. !
i'll post this to the list. maybe someone out there has one
rattling around in their parts box?
>> the "clip" part that the ignition
>> wire makes its doupleloop thru
BZ> I have no idea what that means.
