The folks at Classic Motorsports magazine have been restoring an MG Midget. Their steps leading to paint are: 1) strip bodywork to bare metal - patch body 2) apply filler and smooth 3) prime (etch on body panels on top, epoxy underneath) High build primer, sand, prime, repeat 4) Paint, but not base/clear process This differs from Frank's process as he puts the filler over the epoxy (as I remember). Is this one of those religious/political things where no one is wrong - just different? <grin> If you are restoring a Spridget, you would probably enjoy reading the series of articles - 11 or 12 articles to date. You can get an idea and see the painted body on the Classic Motorsports web site. http://www.classicmotorsports.net/ Tim Collins Midland, MI 1966 AH Sprite |
