My current engine was built for Sprite Rush 98.
That was 8 years ago. Same clutch, same pistons, cam, etc.
I have replaced the t/chain with a belt set up and I did install an
aluminum flywheel a couple years back.
So it's good for at least 10 years and that's if you drive it like you
stole it. And if/when it does need attention, it should only need rings,
bearings, and an oil pump. Add a gasket set and it's a $200 rebuild and
can be done on the kitchen counter (if you are single) in an evening.
So don't give me any crap about spares.
You need a spare? come on down, I have a rebuildable 1275 that needs to
get out of my garage. Make a spare engine and stick it under your bed.
If/when you need it, you have it handy.
Now you can drive anywhere, anytime with no worrys.
Hell, I rebuilt all my own engines so I know they are done right, I
don't have to worry about stupid stuff like engine failure.
And if/when an engine fails, oh well, stuff happens. I'll deal with it.
Meanwhile I am going to drive like I want to, where I want to, and as
fast as I want to as long as "the man" is not in sight.
