....but your experience is about par for the
industry. I was an "xtra" in NYC for a year
or so after my retirement. Hard to make a
buck at it to the extent of even breaking even considering commuting costs,
etc. You
really gotta live there considering o'dark
thirty report times, long hrs on the other end and "postponed" shots due to a
variety
of operational reasons. And NYC hotels are
anything but cheapo! :)
A lotta fun though and interesting to watch
it all come together as well. But scads of
time blown hangin' around waiting for your "5 secs", which stands a better than
even chance of being cut.
