Subject: Babe Rally Spridget
Did you hear about the Big Apple 2 Big Easy Rally?
http://www.baberally.com
There is just something about a rally where the entry fee also
happens to be the limit of what the car can cost...
Willy Thompson and I think that it would be a crying shame
if there were no Spridgets in that rally, so we aim to do
something about it!
Between the two of us, we have a fair amount of spare parts,
but it would be nice to find a "vaguely close to functional"
Spridget within the $250 limit imposed by the rules if at all
possible. Got something you would like to contribute?
Since we both live in the endless midwest, it would have
to be able to survive the trip to NYC, 1500 more miles
to Katrinaville, and hopefully home again, so it would be
nice to find one that at least had something resembling sills.
No, it would not be tax-deductible (at least not with a
straight face and a clean conscience), but at least you
wouldn't have to see it cluttering up your garage any more.
On the other hand, if it makes it to the end of the rally, we
could sell it on ebay and donate the proceeds to benefit
the pets made homeless by Hurricane Katrina or some such
group. That should make it deductible, right?
It looks like Willy's truck and trailer are going to MS in three
weeks or so to take donations of toys for Xmas. If anyone
along the way would like to supply a spridget, we can
bring it back !!!!!
Maybe we could start work at SOS 2005. Grassroots
Motorsports will be supplying number plates and stickers
for us, but we will HAVE to put Spridget logos on it, too ;-)
Any helpful ideas out there?

OK, David and Willy, if you two are crazy enough to do this, I will chip in.
At SOS '05, I will be bringing my Bugeye and my 72 RWA Midget. The plan is
to transplant the 1275, ribcase, front suspension and discs, rear axles and
diff and maybe a few other small parts from the Midget into the Bugeye. I
will donate the carcass of the Midget to your project. Free, gratis, zip,
zilch, no cost. It will need floors, but cheap sheet metal will work for
this deal. Some junk spare parts could complete this deal under $250.
In addition, I will contribute $50 toward your entry fee. Who else is
chipping in?
