Mine measure up about the same, when measured from the front face. On
the back face, the hub hole is counterbored to 3", leaving about 1/8" of
metal between the lug holes and the center hole.
I went out and tried another wheel on a different hub on the car, still
no joy. It seems ever so close...

Chris,
What is the diameter of the center hole? My Westerns have a 2 3/4"
center
hole with a 1/4" of metal between the center hole and the lug holes.
