It's great to have you back. I'm only sorry for the circumstances.
Since Melanie's employer is doing the trust fund, I am leaning toward
Elizabeth's idea of contributing toward the kids' vacation. My father died
when I was only 8 years old, and my mother took us on a real vacation that
summer. I'm sure that she could have used the money for many far more
practical purposes, but it did help my brother & I tremendously at a time
when we needed it. The sudden loss of a beloved parent is a major trauma
for a child, and it often takes another major event to start them on the
road to recovery. If we are able to help these children realise their dream
this summer, it might very well be the best thing we could possibly do for
them.
Just my personal opinion. I'll go along with whatever the group decides.
