Hi Art, Same thing happened to me on a Ford 2 litre race motor. The plate on my Mallory distributor had come loose throwing the timing off. Headers went cherry red within a minute after starting. It definitely sounds like a timing issue. don't run it again until you eliminate timing and fuel mixture. Dennis  |
