My son and I took a break from building his new house and headed down to
Atlantic City for the car show.
He suggested we take the Healey (3000) because the top was up on it.
So we did.
Some nice cars, some cheap tools, Chip Foose was there since it was "Hot
Rod Day"
Brit cars included several Jags, some nice E types, 1 MGB, an $80,000
Healey 3000 like mine :) a real nice MG TF, a not so nice MG TD-VW kit
car, and lots of rods, muscle, American iron, and what looked like an
original unrestored not too bad a shape 53 Corvette. Reserve not met at
the auction block, high bid was 113,000 dollars. No sale! It was NOT
that nice.
Best part was running into another Sprite owner, and meeting Kevin for
dinner at one of the casinos.
At last seen, Kevin was not letting Kathy take the "winnings" to dump
back in the slots. But she was doing better than Kevin and I.
I did leave there with one burning question......
Why is it more fun to drive a diesel dually pickup towing an enclosed
trailer with your classic car in it then it is to just drive the classic
car? Some of those rigs have to be worth 5 times what's inside of it!
Go figure.
