Hello Lester,

       my gauge doesn't work either... so i watch the ODO as well
       BUT...

       i also carry a one gallon gas can in the trunk. from the
       information i got from Chevron, you can store gasoline for ONE
       YEAR in an airtight can without degradation, so once  a year, i
       pour it in the tank and refill it... .. haven't HAD to use it
       ... .. yet.
