Bugeye rear harness routing

I had to drop the gas take again to finish the new rear harness wiring.  I 
want to route the fuel gauge sender wire the proper way and I don't know 
what that is.  I notice a harness clip on the underside of the boot floor 
just in front of the license plate and I don't know what it is for.

Where should the wire pass thru the boot floor?
