LBC starter & Altynater question

Is there a starter off a newer car with gear reduction and slimmer
size which fits a mini of another fairly popular car?? (same mounting
as BMC-A Spridgets)

Also any one know of a slimmer alternator which has same mounts as a
lucas and again what model of other car.  (Same mounting as BMC-A
Spridgets)

This is for Paul S of the Mini list.  He recently re-imported an
E.R.A.  Turbo Mini from Japan - but I think it's for another of his
Minis.
