The '75 Midget was the first year to have the Triumph Spitfire 1500
engine, and also the first year to have the Lucas "Opus" electronic
ignition and a single Stromberg carb, all in the name of running an
engine that was already certified to meet US emissions specs.
If there's no spark form the coil, odd are that the electronics in the
ignition have died. The Opus was pretty stinkin' fragile, and it didn't
take much to make it go "poof!". It is expensive to fix or replace,
unfortunately. You have 2 options:
1) Go to points. Fit a Lucas 45D distributor or similar (possibly
obtained from an earlier Spitfire.)
2) Fit a Crane or Pertronics electronic ignition. This will fit into
the existing system and generally make your life simpler.
I hope that helps.
