Mike, as you may recall, I also have problems with my refreshed 68 engine
smoking. Since I was tired of fogging the county for mosquitos in it, I set
about repairing the blown head gasket in the 65 Sprite. This time, the guy
working the head was told that the last one he did smokes, DO THIS ONE RIGHT!!
He calls a few days later to say he can't seem to find valve guides. This leads
me to believe that when he did the last head, he couldn't find valve guides then
either. Thanks to Ed, I have the guides at the shop, and I need to check to see
if it is done on Tuesday.
BTW, anyone that travels to Nevada for some gaming, really needs to drop in to
Elko for a weekend. Martha and I flew up there this weekend, and spent some time
with Kate and Gary Bales. Wonderful folks, very helpful and generous, in running
us around town. We got to visit other casinos, that OUR trip co-ordinator didn't
want us to know about. They also were most helpful in our search for appropriate
gifts upon the return home. I must say though, Kate doesn't have a sense of
humor about my desire to check out Nevada's "other" legal industry!! Gary seemed
to know where they were, just not very knowledgeable as to the inner workings of
the homes in question. Nonetheless, we had a great time, met up with many of
Kate and Gary's friends, also good folks, and hope to go back soon.
I have met several folks on the list, and have yet to be disappointed by any
persons I have met face to face. That said, Web Master Rick, tell Ed that Kate
took a special photo of Martha and I at 8800 feet up in Lamoile Canyon. I hope
she sends it to the Ass list to be posted!!!!
